Social Media Overwhelm: Diagnosis & Prescription

Social Media changes daily and there is no such thing as a Facebook Help Desk or a Twitter Customer Service line. Trying to stay on top of it all, you could literally find yourself overwhelmed to the point of exhaustion!

Stop. Take a breath…

Social Media overwhelm is a condition caused by:

1.) Diving in head-first with a bunch of profiles and big ideas.
2.) Not having a plan for your daily social media activities.
3.) Not having a plan for generating and converting leads.
4.) Buying a whole bunch of training you don’t have time for.
5.) Trying to do it all yourself – especially if you’re not a techie.
6.) Betting the ranch on your social media marketing strategy.
7.) I could go on, but I don’t want to overwhelm you…

What’s the remedy?

Well, the first thing you need is a plan. Three plans, actually. The list below is just an overview, but stop back as I’ll be posting more about each of them:

Plan 1.) Purpose: Why are you on social media, and how are you going to meet those objectives? Without this plan, the next two are irrelevant. Just go play and have fun! Read more…

Plan 2.) Platform: What profiles do you need set up and how will you integrate them together to cast the widest net and draw your best prospects into your lead funnel? Read more…

Plan 3.) Practice: What will you do on a daily, weekly, monthly & periodic basis to meet your social media marketing goals?

Remember: If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you simply need to go back to your plans and get back on track.
